I hope Mickey Rourke realizes just how lucky he is to even be in that room.

I’m sorry, but I really disagree with this. Mickey Rourke did an extremely good job on his film and very much deserved to be in that room. In fact Rourke has done an a lot of extremely good work over his career and deserves to be in that room for years to come.
Justine, this is exactly what we were talking about with Juno - a snarky film critic somewhere makes a passing comment about Mickey Rourke and all of the sudden every blogger with a netflix account is an armchair Leonard Maltin, parroting stupid shit about an industry and a situation they know nothing about in an attempt to seem insightful or socially relevant. My guess is that anywhere between 70 - 90% of the people making such comments had never heard of Mickey Rourke before awards season, much less seen a Mickey Rourke film (including The Wrestler)… But to any of the burgeoning David O. Selznick’s out there, please enlighten us, how lucky is he?
