Comme Des Fuckdown

Remembering my friend, DJ AM
I found this 2007 photograph of my friend DJ AM that I’ve never published before… It feels like it was yesterday — 5 years ago this week — that he jumped on the decks at Cinespace and set the crowd off. Back then we took it for granted, it wasn’t a special occurrence, it wasn’t a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, it was just what we did every week. My friends Mark, Steve, Cory, Rony, Trevor, Mia… everyone else… we were all so much younger, we didn’t talk about success or being on top or making a living, we were just there go crazy, to party and sweat and dance and have a good time.
A little bit of our world died with Adam, and as much as he is missed, everyone who knew him or was there back in the day is grateful to have experienced his gift. He was the best, and touched so many lives and… I don’t think any of us will ever forget him.
