After the west coast launch of Japanese underground fashion label _Julius 7 last night at H. Lorenzo, my friends and I moved on to the soft opening of Nur Kahn’s Writer’s Room, a kind of secret bar hidden behind L.A.’s oldest restaurant.
Last week Paul & André concluded its six month experiment as the only cool place to go in a town obsessed with image, and tonight is the end of an era as Teddy’s celebrates one last night before closing its doors to a generation that grew up with the exclusive bar… which leaves a giant void in Hollywood, but after just one night in the revamped spot, I’m pretty sure Writer’s Room will take over as the only place to be.
I’m actually really sad about Teddy’s — I have so many memories of the place, so many good times with people I love, friends that have become my family… but that’s a story for another time.
