GPOYW - Olivia Wilde / Obama / OBEY / IBTC / Things Are Looking Up™ Edition

This picture is a lot of things to me right now. We’re at the Presidential victory party - November 4, 2008 - celebrating what seemed like the only thing that mattered in the world, and just as I let out a sigh of relief I had been holding in since February when I started actively working on the campaign, I got a text message from my brother saying, “don’t forget, this isn’t over, it has just begun.”

A lot of promises were made that night, the words “hope” and “change” were thrown around quite a bit, so I hope we haven’t forgot why we did it and what it felt like… but my brother was right as usual, it wasn’t just the end of the hardest battle most of us have ever fought, it was the beginning of a new world, one where we decide our future and we don’t wait for the world to change around us, we change the world.

May always tears me apart, flips me upside down… So much is going on right now, and I’m pretty excited about it.
